McDonald Golf Club held their 26th Pro-Am sponsored by Tennent Caledonian Breweries. The event was unexpectedly blessed with fine weather which showed up in the scoring of the 29 teams involved.
The winners were Experis Engineering 2 with professional Graham Fox with a team score of 121, nineteen under par. In second place were Experis Engineering 1 with professional Chris Kelly (122); third were Dales Engineeringwith Graeme Brown (124); sponsors Tennent Caledonian Breweries were pleased to be fourth with their number 1 team and Murray Patterson (125) and fifth were Container Company Ltd 1 with Stephen Gray (126).
Chris Kelly was best of the professionals with a seven under par round of 63 closely followed by European Tour star and 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie, Graeme Brown and Chris Currie – all on 65.
The Pro-Am also attracted two women professionals – local Michele Thomson and Heather MacRae – who tied 10th on level par 70.
