PRESS REPORT FOR 2017 PRO-AM
Led by their professional Greig Hutcheon the ‘Casa Freedom’ team of Kenny Cowe, John Garvie and Andrew Penny lifted the Team prize in the 29th Annual Ellon Golf Club pro-Am last Friday.
In sunny but windy conditions their score of 123 just pipped the Murray Paterson led ‘3 Joes and a Pro’ team by virtue of the better score on the inward 9 holes.
The top pro prize went to Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf) with a fantastic 6 under par score of 64.This is the second time Fox has taken the pro prize and ironically when he won in 2013 his winning score again was 64.
Pro-Am convenor Colin Grant was delighted with the days play and was quick to thank new sponsors James Jamieson Construction for their support of one of the longest running Pr0-Ams on the Tartan tour circuit.
Next year will see the event celebrating its 30th birthday and many of the teams who played this year have already said they will be back in 2018.
