Our 28th Annual Pro-Am took place at the Club on Friday 29th July 2016.
30 teams took part on the day and although there was a couple of showers of rain, on the whole, the weather was good.
Tennents Caledonian Brewers were the main sponsors for the event and we thank them for their support.
n.b. We will be looking for a ‘NEW’ main sponsor for our 2017 event as Tennent’s sponsorship ended with our 2016 Pro-Am.
Although there was a minor problem just prior to the event we thank the Scottish PGA for running the Tournament.
Thanks must go to all who made the event such a success.
My Pro-Am Committee who attended many meetings in the run up to our Tournament. Neil Whyte, Sandy Aird, Alan Barker, Andy Williamson, Dot McKinnon, Shona Reid and Anne Bowman.
Bill Shepherd and his Greenkeeping staff.
Andrew Miller and Bar Staff.
Darrall Mitchell and Catering staff.
To all the various event Helpers, Sponsors and Advertisers.
Special mention though to Sandra Brockie for her ‘behind the scenes’ knowledge and also many thanks to George Ironside for once again producing a superb Official Programme for the event.
The Professional Prize for the Tournament ended as a 7 way tie. Our own Ross Cameron being one of the winners. With scores of 68 Ross, Scott Henderson (Kings Links), Greg McBain (Newmachar), Mark Kerr (Dalmahoy), David Stein (Ranfurly), Chris Currie (Caldwell) and Paul Robinson (Largs) finished equal first.
The CGC Engineering team of Calum Cordiner, Sandy Murray and Gordon Rae were the delighted winners of the Team prize with a score of 122 (-18). Samuel Binning (Mearns Castle) was their professional.
Let’s hope that this year’s Pro-Am can attract a few more teams and that members can sell more Raffle Books etc. and therefore increase the Revenue stream to the Club.
